There are two ways to get an indoor sporting season in during this pandemic. The first is to go full bubble, like the NBA did. The second is to just plow ahead regardless of how many people get sick.
The NCAA is desperately trying to carve out territory in the middle ground by not having a bubble but also trying to pseudo-quarantine affected programs. It is turning into, in the words of the Fantastic Mr. Fox, an absolute clustercuss. I don't see a way out that doesn't have this continuing into a rolling disaster as the winter rolls on.
Wear those masks though, or whatever. In less than a week, Xavier plans to be playing basketball.
