[Author’s note: I typed this up but forgot to set it to run. Sorry.]
Things keep happening in the run up to Selection Sunday, more or less as one would expect at this time of year. Texas and UCF helped themselves with good wins, and VCU avoided a potentially hamstringing loss. Alabama and NC State dropped ones they needed. The wheel keeps rolling. Here's what's next:
St. John's at DePaul, 12pm, FS1
The Johnnies are in solid shape right now, but a loss to DePaul would put a lot of pressure onto their return leg against Xavier to close out the season. I'm almost inclined to hope St. John's takes this one so as not to devalue Xavier's win over them.
Tulane at Temple, 2pm, ESPNU
Temple is clinging to the bottom of the bubble. Tulane has won 4 times all season and is riding a 17-game losing streak. This one would be a killer for the Owls.
Creighton at Marquette, 3pm, FS1
The Jays have had it in reverse for a while now. They're probably past the point of hoping for an at-large bid, but if they're going to make a run, it needs to start now. Marquette can bury them in this one.
