The first game of the Big East season will see Xavier head back to Chicago, where they clinched the outright conference title last season, to take on DePaul. January 2nd will see the conference home opener against Seton Hall. The most trying stretch looks to be February 13-24 when X hosts Creighton, goes to Providence and Seton Hall, and hosts Villanova in the span of 11 days. The other stand out curiosity is that Xavier doesn't meet St. John's and the, surely by that point, temporarily employed Chris Mullin until the 28th of February, which means the two teams will meet twice in 10 days in the final stretch before the Big East tournament.
It is not easy to predict at this point how things may play out for Xavier over this schedule, but now that we have it in front of us, I can't wait to watch it unfold.
