It’s that time of year again, where every game is rife with implications regarding the final layout of the bracket when Selection Sunday rolls around. Most teams with legitimate at-large hopes play in major conferences, so starting this on a dang Friday the week before major conference tournaments start isn’t likely to lead to a full slate of bubble games.
Michigan v. Nebraska, 2:25pm, Big Ten Network (Big Ten conference tournament)
Aside from the never-ending font of hilarity that is the fact that the Big Ten tournament began in February and will be over two weeks before the NCAA tournament begins, this is actually a pretty big game. Nebraska is 22-9, but they have 11 wins in quadrant 4 and are just 3-8 in the top two quadrants. The Huskers are in need of big wins to seal their bid (the Bracket Matrix has them in the first four out right now), and Michigan would be a quadrant 1 victory.
And that’s it. Things will build from here, I’m sure.
