Kerem Kanter, a 6-10 grad transfer from Turkey, has transferred to Xavier and will be eligible to play this year. Maybe. Much like Trevon Bluiett, Kanter has declared for the draft and has until the 24th of May to remove his name or hire an agent. (Also like Trevon Bluiett, Kanter has committed some minor misdemeanors. Hide your children.) If Kanter doesn’t go into the draft, he will play for Coach Mack and fill some of the gap left by the departure of RaShid Gaston.
And he’s a pretty solid replacement. For Green Bay last season he posted a 105.5 offensive efficiency rating, averaged 11 and 6, and shot .507/.350/.636. Kanter also blocked shots at a 2.9% rate and was quite good at taking care of the ball. If both he and Trevon stay with the Musketeers, the roster for next season is set.
