Trevon Bluiett was arrested Monday afternoon in Indiana on drug posession related charges. That sentence alone is enough to trigger an increasingly frequent feeling of dread in Xavier fans. Just over 12 months ago, JP Macura was arrested on disorderly conduct charges stemming from an ill-fated, fake ID toting trip to a local bar where he reportedly pulled his pants down. Next came charges of criminal damaging, among others, levelled at Myles Davis as a result of an altercation with a former girlfriend over the summer. While Macura was able to atone for his misdeeds and functionally miss no time with Xavier, Davis was suspended for the first 15 games of the season, before leaving the team entirely in mid-January.
Bluiett has not had a court date set and the legal rammifications are unclear at this point, but this is another unwelcome run in with the law on the part of the Musketeers. With his future still up in the air previous to the arrest, having declared for the NBA Draft but declining to hire an agent, Bluiett's next step becomes even more unclear at this point, pending any possible punishment from the school. As always, we will be keeping up to date on the situation and updating as infrmation becomes available.
