Coach Mack tweeted out yesterday that the entire team was going to be together on campus today for the first time. This marks as good a point as any in the summer to transition from Xavier's historic season (and disappointing end) with Team 94 to a brand new day with the 2016-2017 version of the team.
As an aside, when I was a kid "2016" sounded like a year someone would make up for a science fiction story. I guess I'm old now.
Anyway, last year's team blew up, with a balanced and lethal offense taking X through an undefeated non-conference season and on to a two seed before failing to escape the first weekend in March. The pessimist sees James Farr and Jalen Reynolds walk out the door and worries Xavier peaked last year. The optimist sees Ed and Trevon and Myles return to lead breakout candidate Kaiser Gates and a talented recruiting class plus newly-eligible RaShid Gaston and thinks this could be Xavier's year.
Where do you stand?
