After going on an unofficial visit to Xavier Tuesday, Jared Ridder pulled the trigger on committing to the Muskies today.Xavier has been recruiting Ridder hard, as he had been a priority recruit for several schools throughout the Midwest.

Ridder is a 6'7", 205-pound wing out of Missouri. He has a reputation as a big-time scorer with really good range on his jump shot. He can also guard multiple positions, which is a big bonus for Xavier.

There's a lot of positional flexibility in play with Ridder. He's a small forward right now, but it's possible that he can add some bulk to his frame and fit into that flex four role that Trevon Bluiett and Kaiser Gates fill right now.

Ridder represents the first commitment in the 2017 class for the Musketeers. With three scholarships currently open and at least two more coming off the books after this season, Coach Mack is free to go after a big class behind Ridder.
