Xavier's Jalen Reynolds will officially hire an agent, stay in NBA draft

Obviously.

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

First, the news:

Per that report, Jalen has hired Mike Silverman and Brandon Grier of Athlete Management Group to represent his interests as he tries to find someone to pay him money to play basketball. Athlete Management Group represents a kind of fringe NBA clientele, with players like Quincy Acy, Brady Heslip, and Kay Felder on their rolls.

You didn't need to lay out eight bucks a month for insider information to see this one coming. Jalen is older than a lot of NBA players already, to say nothing of college juniors. Xavier has been planning in advance for this one, with RaShid Gaston in the fold to come eligible this season.

Coach Mack and the staff now have three open scholarships to work with on the transfer market and in the April signing period. Trevon Bluiett's NBA draft decision is the only remaining roster question for Xavier beyond recruiting at this point.
