Xavier offers guard Max Strus, a transfer from D2 Lewis University

As first reported (or at least first seen by me) by Verbal Commits, Xavier has offered a scholarship to D2 transfer guard Max Strus. This will no doubt continue to Kindle speculation that either Jalen or LAJ is out the door, and with good reason.

Strus is listed at 6'6", 215 pounds and is a shooting guard by nature. He posted 20.2/8.4/3.5 as a sophomore last year, leading Lewis in all three categories. He shot .455/.360/.823 and was basically even in assists and turnovers. I'm not sure how much it matters, but Strus won his team's dunk contest last season.

Strus has heard from DePaul, Toledo, and UIC so far, making Xavier by far the highest profile school to express interest. He has not graduated and would have to sit out a year before suiting up for the Muskies. For those who are leery of taking a lower level transfer, consider that Michigan's Duncan Robinson transferred in from a D3 school and dropped 11.3 a game on .457/.450/.886 shooting this year.

In Mack we trust. Here are some highlights.
