Xavier news:

Xavier lands third on this list (so 28th in ESPN's estimation?) and gets the same reasons listed for being 28th as they did for being in the top 25 when the season ended. Does that make a lot of sense? No, but X is still pulling national coverage.

2015-16 Big East nonconference schedule analysis: Xavier Musketeers - Big East Coast Bias
Our SB Nation brethren see Xavier going 10-2 in the non-conference slate. While that is possible, and BECB sees running the table as a possibility, it ignores the fact that Xavier is playing over the Thanksgiving holiday. We all know what that means.

Around the Big East:

This is a really cool thing that the Big East does. No, Cris Carter doesn't appear to tell players to have a fall guy, but there can't be a much better place to learn about playing under the bright lights than NYC.

Xavier doesn't appear, it's in the third best of the three big cities in Ohio after all, but this is still pretty cool. Pepperdine tops the list, but there are a couple of surprises in here. Ohio U makes the list basically on the strength of being a party school.

Duke has the best chance of success over the next five years -
Gary Parrish invents ways to rate schools over the next five years. I don't think you can project programs over five years based on what they've done recently. Ask Michigan fans how that is working out..

Kentucky, North Carolina alumni game draws 23,000 to Rupp Arena -
I despise UK but I love this idea. Imagine the crowd that an alumni Crosstown Shootout would draw. Imagine a team of Xavier alums taking on the best of Dayton (another chance to yell at Jimmy Binnie) over the years. The possibilities here are amazing.
