First, the news:
Xavier will host 2016 JC All-American guard Jaylen Barford of Motlow St on a visit today. Priority recruit for the Musketeers.

Barford is a 6'4" combo guard at Motlow State, where he put up 20.6/7.1(!)/5.1 on .525/.327/.701 shooting as a freshman. He also averaged 2.2 steals and nearly a block per game while only committing 55 fouls in 27 games, 25 of which he started. The kid can really play ball.
Coming out of high school, he was reported as a great slasher with good pull-up game who needed to work on his outside shooting and movement without the basketball. He earned universal acclaim for his dogged on-ball defense, which is nice to hear.
Barford has the size and skills to be a big factor for a couple of years in the Big East. He is also being recruited by Wichita State, Iowa State, Cincinnati, and basically the entire SEC.
