AP Preseason Poll out and...

It's that time of year for college basketball fans to start looking at the polls and wondering where their team is. For Xavier fans, that can only mean one thing.

Xavier isn't ranked. Getting into the Sweet 16 and nearly beating Arizona is apparently overshadowed by the fact that Matt Stainbrook and Dee Davis have moved on to (slightly) greener pastures. While Cleveland Cavalier fans can hope that Dee makes the Canton Charge and gets promoted, fans of the current team will have to wait until March, as per the norm, to see their heroes get their due.

The positive here is that Michigan is already ranked, so there's already a chance for some quick notoriety. Why Butler appears ahead of the Musketeers given that they weren't as good last year and lost more is anyone's guess, but welcome to the utter insanity that is media polling. Rest assured that when it matters, Xavier will be there.
