Seniors lead the way
Dee Davis had 10 first-half points on his way to a game line of 14/3/6 with 2 steals, and Matt Stainbrook led the team in rebounding and flirted with a double-double despite not getting a lot of touches in the post. This game looked like it was slipping away from Xavier early in the second half, but Dee and Matt both stepped up and made plays to help keep the team from falling too far back before they could find their legs late.
Trevon Bluiett is back (apparently)
Bluiett was back to looking like the guy he was before finals week. He was cold from deep but still put together a game line of 13/6/2 on 5-8/0-3/3-4 shooting. Xavier absolutely has to have him scoring to keep afloat in the Big East, and he looked like he was ready to do whatever the team needed to tonight.
Cintas is still a fortress
Coach Mack and the team spoke in the mid-week press conference about a desire to go undefeated at home this year. It's going to take a performance like that to finish near the top of the Big East, because everyone is making hay at home right now. Xavier weathered everything that Seton Hall could throw at them before pulling away down the stretch, and it's that good home cooking that keeps the Muskies from falling below .500 in the Big East for the first time ever.
