This news seems to answer the swirling rumors surrounding Coach Mack this offseason. Xavier's head basketball coach has had his contract extended through the 2019-20 season. While that may seem like pointless dealing at the end of an already long contract to some, it sends a clear message that the school is intent on keep their young coach in the driving seat for a long time.
As a head coach Mack has an 111-57 record and has led Xavier to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including the play-in game in the latest season. This year Coach Mack has Xavier's top recruiting class of all time coming in to replace the loss of Semaj Christon, Justin Martin, Isaiah Philmore, and Erik Stenger. Guard Trevon Bluiett headlines a class that was ranked in the top 15 nationally by most reputable sources.
