After averaging 11.7 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game, Justin Martin will finish his coursework and begin contacting schools to transfer to. Reasons are unknown as to why Martin has decided to transfer, and the Musketeers have now lost their second leading scorer from last season. While this isn't the greatest of news for Xavier fans, it isn't the end of the world. The gap left by J-Mart becoming the scorer we finally wanted him to be gives 6'5 small forward recruit Trevon Bluiett a chance to fill the vacancy immediately.
Martin, after a markedly less frustrating season in the new Big East, will be eligible immediately since he red-shirted during the 2010-2011 season. The Muskies will now have to fill the void left by Semaj Christon and now Martin, much like they needed to after the departure of Tu Holloway and Mark Lyons. It seems as though this time we stared at the Imp too long, as he will disappear for good from the Musketeers.
