Future Fantastic Freshman: JP Macura

After a great road win, let's continue our in depth look at our awesome 2014 recruiting class. JP Macura is a ridiculously good scorer out of Lakeville High in Minnesota. Let's get to know him!

He stands at a towering 6'5. He shoots the lights out of nearly every gym he's graced. He's a versatile scorer that brings A LOT to the table. JP Macura is good, you guys. He's got a great handle, he's got in the gym range, he can get to the cup, and he can rise up and rock the rim with an exciting amount of bounce. Can you tell I like this guy??

Lets try and break JP's game down a little. From what I've seen on film, JP reminds me a lot of Ron Baker of Wichita State current fame. The only difference is, JP has two inches on Baker. The height of Macura is exciting because when he's out on the floor, there won't be any worry about giving up height to have a gunner on the floor like we do with Myles Davis. Another great thing about Macura is that he just isn't a gunner out there to get up rise and fire from the arc. He can get to the rack and finish efficiently when he gets there. He is just an all around great scorer. He's proven that by putting up a RIDICULOUS regular season stat line of 32.8/5.5/2.5. He's going to be a great addition to this Musketeer roster.

Finally, let's check out where all of our trusted scouting sites have him ranked (courtesy of Verbal Commits):
