Xavier's 2014 recruiting class of Makinde London, Sean O'Mara, Edmond Sumner, J.P. Macura, and Trevon Bluiett was announced today by the school.

"This is an awesome day for Xavier Basketball," said Mack. "While many recruiting experts have labeled our five-man class as a top class nationally, we feel we have the best shooting class in the entire country. My staff worked very hard to identify talented players with tremendous character. The five-man class of Edmond Sumner, JP Macura, Makinde London, Sean O'Mara and Trevon Bluiett has the makings of a special one."

ESPN.com has the class ranked as the fourth-best in the nation, easily the highest a Xavier class ever ranked on a nationally respected site.

The team's latest commit, No. 43 Trevon Bluiett, is a huge get for the program. Edmond Sumner is a long, thin and athletic point guard with a huge upside. He is solid offensively and could be a lockdown defender in the future. J.P. Macura is an outside shooter with good size and toughness.

According to the Indy Star, the hay isn't quite in the barn on Trevon Bluiett, as they are reporting that he is not planning to sign until Tuesday. Nobody is even hinting that Bluiett plans to reopen his recruiting, but it's not a done deal until the ol' fax machine fires up.

Scout has Xavier's class ranked ninth, but they also have the Muskies as part of the A-10.

It looks like this signing period is going to be a massive one for the direction of Xavier's program. Further bulletins as events warrant.
